Questions about lessons and your Ontario licence

Quick answers to the questions we hear most. Still not sure? Call or WhatsApp us.

Getting your Ontario licence

How does Ontario’s graduated licensing work?

There are three steps. You pass a knowledge test to get your G1, a road test to get your G2, and a second road test to get your full G licence. Each step has its own rules and a minimum waiting time.

Do I need a G1 licence before my first lesson?

Yes. You need at least a G1 licence to drive on Ontario roads. If you don’t have one yet, start with the G1 knowledge test at a DriveTest centre.

I have a licence from another country. Can I take lessons?

Yes. Lessons help you get used to Ontario roads and rules, and prepare for your road test. Whether you can exchange your licence or get credit for driving experience depends on where it was issued, so check ontario.ca for your country.

Road test preparation

How do I book my G2 or G road test?

You book road tests through DriveTest, online or by phone. Book early, as dates can fill up. Once you have a date, tell us and we’ll plan your lessons around it.

What is the difference between the G2 and G road tests?

The G2 road test checks basic driving skills. The G road test checks more advanced skills, including highway driving.

Can I use your car for my road test?

Yes. Our dual-brake 2025 training car is available for both G2 and G road tests, with pick-up included. Ask us about the price when you book.

Which test centres do you go to?

We take students to DriveTest centres including Port Union, Metro East, Oshawa, Peterborough and Lindsay, and many more. Tell us where your road test is booked when you contact us.

Is a lesson included on road test day?

Yes. With our road test service, you get a free lesson on road test day. It’s a warm-up just before your test, so you feel settled and ready. We also book your road test and take you there in our car.

Does your training car have a dual brake?

Yes. Our 2025 training car has a dual brake, so your instructor can help you stop safely if needed. Many nervous learners find this reassuring.

How many lessons will I need?

It depends on your experience and how confident you feel. After your first lesson, we can suggest a plan that fits you, such as one of our packages.

What to bring

What should I bring to a lesson?

Bring your valid Ontario driver’s licence (the physical card), plus your glasses or contact lenses if you need them to drive. Wear comfortable, flat shoes.

What do I need on road test day?

Bring your driver’s licence and your glasses or contacts if you need them. DriveTest lists the full requirements, so check their website before your test.

Lessons and booking

Are your lessons one-on-one?

Yes. Every lesson is just you and your instructor, and we tailor it to your goal, whether that’s a road test, highway driving, parking or building confidence.

Do you teach nervous new drivers?

Yes. We teach patiently, step by step, at your pace. If you have your G1 and are working towards your G2, we help you build your skills and confidence.

What languages do you teach in?

Lessons are taught in English, Gujarati, Urdu and Hindi. Choose your language when you book.

Do you pick me up for lessons?

Yes. We pick students up in Scarborough, East York, North York and Toronto. Add your pick-up area or postal code when you book, or call us to check.

Our G package is $299 for 3 lessons plus your road test. Not taking lessons with us?
